Welcome Dr. James Banta

We are happy to announce that Dr. James Banta will be joining Bend Ophthalmology on March 1.
Dr. Banta comes to us from the prestigious Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami Beach. He completed
his ophthalmology residency there and remained on the faculty as an Associate Clinical Professor for
the next 15 years. He was also voted Professor of the Year in 2018. He has performed over 17,000
cataract surgeries and has taught cataract surgery around the country. He has expertise in complex
forms of cataract surgery. He also performs pterygium surgery, IOL lens exchange and anterior
segment reconstruction.
